JR. COYOTES 2017 DRAFT UPDATE

After an exciting season that culminated with a state sweep at the Tier I level, the Jr. Coyotes Elite AAA program is extremely proud to announce that nine players from the program were drafted this week during the United States Hockey League and Western Hockey League Drafts. This marks the most Jr. Coyotes players taken in any one year.

Congratulations to all of the players highlighted below for this hard-earned and well-deserved recognition.  The entire Jr. Coyotes community wishes you the best as you continue your hockey careers at the next level!

USHL DRAFT


GARRETT WRIGHT
A member of the 15U Jr. Coyotes, Wright was selected as the 118th pick in the 8th round by the Bloomington Thunder.

CARSON DIMOFF
Dimoff '99, Jr. Coyotes alumni,  is currently playing for in the NAHL as a member of the Aberdeen Wings.  HeSave Changes was selected as the 19th pick in the 2nd round by the Sioux Falls Stampede.

JOSEPH STRADA
Strada '99, Jr. Coyotes alumni, also currently playing in the NAHL as a member of the Aberdeen Wings.  Strada was selected in the 4th round/52nd pick by the Fargo Force.
 

WHL BANTAM DRAFT

What a memorable season for the 14U Jr. Coyotes!  After earning a spot at the USA Hockey Nationals by defeating the Bobcats in a best of five series, under Head Coach Steve Potvin's leadership, the team ended the year 12th in the Nation. This roster made a big impact at the WHL Bantam Draft held Wednesday, May 4.

In total, 230 players were drafted including 126 forwards, 83 defensemen and 21 goaltenders.  Only 29 American-born players were selected.
