Adult Skating

Whether you are brand new to figure skating or a seasoned veteran ready to continue your development or dusting off your skates after some time off, the Ice Den is the place to skate!

Some adults are new to skating and have never taken a lesson, while others have competed on the national level as children and want to return to the ice for fun, fitness, competition or to pursue yet-unrealized dreams and goals. It doesn't matter if you are an "adult who became a skater" or a "skater who became an adult," the U.S. Figure Skating Adult Skating Program has a place for everyone to learn, enjoy and participate through a variety of skating programs, proficiency tests and competitions on the local, national and international level.

It's Great to Skate

Annually recognized by U.S. Figure Skating as a Top 10 program in the country, the Ice Den Learn to Skate program provides a fun and structured way for skaters to be physically active and improve their skills.  Participation in the program enables beginning skaters to learn basic skating skills for recreational enjoyment.  On behalf of the Ice Den, thank you for your interest in the Learn to Skate USA program.

The objectives of the program are to:

•    Teach children and adults the fundamentals of ice skating while building confidence and skills through each lesson.
•    Provide a progressive curriculum that ensures success from the first steps on the ice to the mastery of advanced skills.
•    Promote the health and fitness benefits of ice skating.
•    Equip each participant with the foundation necessary to reach his or her goal, be it recreational or competitive in nature.

The Learn to Skate USA program offers several levels of advancement.  This ensures individual skaters will be paired with other skaters of similar age and abilities.  The program offers Levels A, B & C to accommodate beginners through Advanced Pre-Preliminary.  U.S. Figure Skating achievement badges are awarded as skaters progress through the levels and are available for purchase at the Administration Desk.
