Learn to Skate Updated Policies
The Ice Den Scottsdale is committed to offering our nationally recognized Learn to Skate program. Adjustments to program policies and requirements have been made to ensure a safe environment for all skaters and coaches.
Any previous policies have been replaced indefinitely.
Until Further Notice:
- Registration MUST be completed online. No paper forms will be accepted.
- Registration will be available by session only. No multi-session discounts will be offered.
- Additional class and sibling discounts are not offered.
- Masks optional for all skaters and spectators.

LEARN TO SKATE USA REGISTRATION
All skaters and participants are required to pay and renew the $19.00 mandatory Learn to Skate USA Membership Fee annually. Valid July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024.
Current members of a US Figure Skating Club, are required to purchase a Learn to Skate USA membership to participate in the Ice Den’s Learn to Skate classes. USFS and Learn to Skate USA are two separate membership programs.
Please visit the Learn to Skate USA Website to learn more about membership benefits including the ability to participate in U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned events and coverage under U.S. Figure Skating's sports accident insurance policy.
REGISTRATION FOR LTS SUMMER SESSION #1
USFS membership fees expire annually on June 30 - regardless of when a skater's most recent membership was purchased:
All Skaters must have current 2023-2024 LTS USA membership. LTS USA $19 non-refundable fee (valid July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024) is required.
Registrations for returning members received after
10:00 a.m. Monday of Week #1 will incur a $25 late registration fee.
Skaters registering after online registration is closed which occurs, Week #1 Monday, May 6th at 10:00 am, must contact the Admin Office directly: (480) 585-7465 ext. O
Level A Classes & Times
45 Minute Classes
Level A / Pre-Hockey / Parent & Pups / Adult-Teen
- Snowplow Sam 1, 2, 3 (ages 4-5)
- Basic 1, 2, 3 (ages 6 and up)
- Pre-Hockey* 1, 2, 3 (ages 4 and up)
*All skaters must be able to skate across the ice unassisted in hockey skates, forward & backward and glide on one foot. - Adult/Teen (ages 13 and up)
- Parent & Pups: 2.5 - 5 years with an adult
New Parent + Pup Bundle
For any participants new to the Ice Den Scottsdale LTS Parent + Pup program. Price includes one (1) x 45 minute class per week plus two LTS USA memberships.

Classes not meeting size requirements

LTS PRE-HOCKEY 15 MINUTE POWERSKATING
Exclusively for Pre-Hockey 2 & 3 Skaters:
ENROLLMENT LEVEL
Class size is limited and classes will sell-out.
Do not wait for evaluations to register.
Next session registered skater profiles will be
automatically updated based on skater progress
after current concludes.
Coaches will evaluate all skaters the first week of the next session and make the necessary level adjustments.
Safety Requirements & Guidelines
- Masks are optional for all skaters & spectators. Complimentary disposable masks are available if needed.
- Skaters/spectators who are currently sick, recently sick, symptomatic or high-risk/vulnerable to illness: DO NOT come to the rink.
- Social distancing encouraged at all times in the building, including locker room and ice.
- Do not bring valuables into the building. The Ice Dens are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Skaters are encouraged to bring own tissues and personal sanitized wipes/sanitizer.
- Follow all posted signs and guidelines.
- Limit time spent in the facility that is outside of scheduled ice slot. Arrive no sooner than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled session and leave promptly at its conclusion.
- Enter the rink through the properly designated doors at main building entrance.
- Participation by online registration in advance only.
- Two (2) spectators recommended per skater.
